The Breakdown
The Christy Winters Scott Classic is a Winter Varsity Scholastic Girls Basketball showcase matching up local powerhouse teams in the DC Area. Launched in 2022, this event is named for Christy Winters Scott. She is a basketball color analyst for college basketball games for ESPN, FSN, The Big Ten Network(B1G), CBS, Monumental Sports Network, and Raycom Sports. She has been the lead analyst for Big Ten Women’s Basketball since 2016, and became one of the first women to serve as a color analyst for Big Ten Men’s Basketball in 2018. A role model for female athletes, the former D1 coach was an All ACC Student-Athlete at University of Maryland before playing professionally overseas.
*Unaffiliated Non-Member Teams will compete in the Non-Member Classic.
**Members and Approved Non-Members will be paired according to State Association Standards in the US Classic. Approved Non-Members are eligible to compete in the Non-Member Classic as well.
